The awesomeness that is my Droid phone continues. It was so neat to have it while wandering around a strange city last week. A few button clicks showed me how to get back to my hotel when I had strayed too far. A few more pointed me in the direction of the nearest Dunkin Donuts.
Is it sad that when we hit the Dunkin drive-thru Charlie starts chanting "Munchkin! Munchkin!" from the back seat?
I know we're supposed to be making forward progress in terms of language development, but I'm still a little sad when he learns how to say cute words correctly. First the "shuss" disappeared when he learned how to say "shoes," and now his "fooooooooooonnnn!" and "booooooooooooonnnn!" have been replaced with "spoon" and "boom."
Speaking of "boom," he asks to read Star Wars Spaceships almost every night. I realized this week that he knows all of the sound effects that go with each page. You turn to the Imperial Star Destroyer and he's screaming "ZIP!" before you even get to the end of the ship description. Hopefully he hasn't picked up my useless-knowledge-storage-habit. Maybe if I could have replaced the random song lyrics with useful information I would have done better in history class....
I can recite a bazillion songs from memory. You would be impressed. All right stop, collaborate and listen, ice is back with a brand new invention, something grabs a hold of me tightly, flow like a harpoon daily and nightly, will it ever stop?, yo, I don't know, turn off the lights, and I glow, to the extreme I rock a mike like a vandal, light up the stage and wax a chump like a candle.
My NKOTB skills are even better, including the most obscure song that no one remembers but is freaking awesome nonetheless.
I'm for you, and you're for me, we can stay together so easily!
The Office season finale was on last night. It sucked. What a major disappointment. The best part wasn't a quote at all, it was a shot of David Wallace sitting on his front step with a "Suck It" sweatshirt. That's exactly what The Office did last night. Sucked.
I'll have to go back to last week for my QOTW.
Those lumps are cats and those cats have names!
"Shuss" is my favorite word that my boy says. I'll be sad to see it go.
ReplyDeleteI'm super-impressed with your lyrical skillz :P
I DVR'd The Office, but I'm going to guess you're right... it hasn't been as funny lately. I love eParks and Rec though.
When my boy was learning to talk, he'd call the moving van in Toy story a "Moo Don Bam". It absolutely kills me. I still call them Moo Don Bams. He used to correct me but now he just lets me have my fun. :)
ReplyDeleteRollin' in my five-point-OH!
My favorite word of my son's was ocano. As in...volcano. :)
ReplyDeleteLMBO at "Muchkins!" !!!
ReplyDeleteI never even knew all the words to that song! Color me impressed!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm with you, it's sad when the cute mispronounced words give way to the real thing. Justin used to call dogs, "foofs". What does a doggie say? "foof, foof, foof" Loved it!
My four year old grand daughter Avery has some trouble with her speech which is being worked on and she is doing pretty well. Last week at her mother's baby shower one of her Daddies brothers walked in and I said Ave "who is that"? she said "that is uncle Danny" and I said "Do you like him"? and she said "no not really he is such a pain in the ass" I of course got in so much trouble for laughing at her but why is it she can say the bad things so clearly?
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
I was bouncing around at my desk singing the song right along with your words; life is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteMy almost four year old (tomoorw) could say my son's name for hte longest time, so he called him Yammo. Now we ALL call him Yammo, which is just hilarious to me.
haha, that is so funny about the vanilla ice song.
ReplyDeleteHey, I followed you over here from Cat's blog. It's great to meet someone new. Just became a follower :)
Have a nice weekend!
