The Mothership has Landed

I've been really good about not drinking too much coffee during the week. Really good. Partly because I'm too cheap to buy coffee at Dunkin more than once a week, and partly because the coffee in our office is really, really bad.

My resolution is about to be tested. The bad coffee is a thing of the past.

I present to you, The Mothership. It landed in our breakroom early last week.

Yes, that IS a coffee maker. Not a spaceship. May as well be, with all of the buttons and controls.

Once you select one of THOSE options, you get another screen with even more options. And another screen after that! It's almost overwhelming. Caffeination shouldn't be this complicated, people!

Coffee? What coffee? You must have me confused with some other coffee addict. THIS is cappuccino.

Judging by the bags under my eyes, maybe this is a good time to resume the habit. Today was my first early morning treadmill workout! 4:30 came a little too early.

  1. Youa re so impressive with the 4:30 a.m. treadmill workout!  I am still training for my half (in July) and I'm feeling exhausted and tired of training!  You rock and give me inspiration!

  2. good looking machine - the coffee maker - ha - nice pics.  Now that is a little sign of the changing times - back in my early career is was not uncommon for male execs to expect (even order) women to bring fresh coffee to their meetings.  Our break room had a good Bunn coffee maker that I would empty and refill often.  I recall one of the older ladies being impressed that I would be doing that.  It was no big deal to me.

  3. I think I've become a coffee snob. When I was in grad school I would drink a full pot by 11:00, and then more in the afternoon. Now that I've cut my consumption by 90%, I only want to drink the good stuff. No more Bunn coffee pots for me!

  4. Don't worry, I'm exhausted and tired, too! Which Half are you running?

Just think of how amazing it's going to feel when you cross the finish line!
