You know those rare days when everything is just perfect? When you want to hit the stopwatch and freeze time just at that exact moment? We had one of those this weekend. It was one of those awesome days as a parent when you can just SEE the development of a new person right in front of you, almost as though they are growing right before your eyes and you can actually tell that their neurons are busily making new connections with every experience. The entire day was pure joy - no temper tantrums or crying fits at all.
Yeah, that was Saturday. We took Charlie to the Renaissance Festival. The weather was absolutely perfect - sunny and cool.
He enjoyed watching the Swordsmen show (and I swear those are the SAME guys that were doing the show the last time I went 12 years ago).
Then Charlie and dad had a "safe-swordfight" of their own.
We went down the giant slide together.
We watched the dancers
We checked out butterfly wands, and the wand lady let Charlie turn her into a bunny.
We watched the glass-blower.
Then Charlie started to get tired,
so we packed it in and headed home, making it through the front door just before the rain started.
It was a good day.
Oh how cute!! I love the wand lady's bunny face. And Charlie, of course, is beyond sweet ...
ReplyDeleteIsn't this weather amazing?!
Cherish these "perfect" days. Times flies and before you know it, you'll be a grandma. Looks like it was a perfect day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day!
