Friday Fragments

Friday Fragments is brought to you by Mrs4444!

Mommy's Idea

I've been a sucky blogger lately, and an even suckier blog reader. Next week will be better. VERY exciting things going on at work, but VERY busy.

Tonight is Harry Potter night! I feel like I've been waiting forever.

I speed-read Book 7 this week and finished it up late last night. I also decided to celebrate with some Dunkin this morning :)

Sometimes I wish that I hadn't shared this blog with family members. I originally started it to keep them in the loop while I was pregnant, but now it's become so much more of an outlet for me. There are things that I would like to talk about but can't.

Did you ever have a really yucky dream? Like maybe a dream where you accidentally saw someone else naked? Someone who you don't find very attractive? And you wake up and feel all kinds of icky and can't get the image out of your head, even though it was just a dream?

I was rather disappointed with last night's episode of The Office. It's gotten really bad lately, but at the same time I can't stop watching it.

If you aren't already a regular reader of Hyperbole and a Half, then you should be. Few blogs make me cry with laughter. This is one of them.

I wish that my brother and sister were coming for thanksgiving. Sister was never able to make it thanks to her d-bag boss, and brother just canceled his plans to drive out here due to a series of unfortunate events. I miss them dearly. On the bright side, the sign that I pass on the road to Dunkin reminded me that there are only 36 days left until Christmas, which means 35 until we get to visit again, anyway.

There is nowhere else I'd rather be than NYC at christmas.

Here are the shoes.

I'm pulling a Mr. Rogers and changing into them when I get to work. So far, so good, although I also feel really self-conscious about the noise they make on the floors. The shoes I had before were silent, and now I sound like an actual grown-up when I walk.

Happy Friday!

  1. My extended family still doesn't know about my blog. Only the household members know. I like it that way.

Every show runs it's course. I think that after many years, they run out of story lines. It's still my favorite show though.

No more sneaking around the office for you. lol

I too wish my family did not know about my blog.... not sure if they read it - they never comment, but you just never know.

  7. I love The Office and even when it's bad I can't help but watch. I think it might be time for them to stop, but I will miss them. There have been times when I've laughed so hard during that show and it's hard to find shows that do that.

A few of my family members know about my blog, but I don't think any of them read it. I appreciate having the freedom to express myself, although I probably wouldn't censor myslef. It's my life and as long as I don't use names or make up lies, I think I can express my truth respectfully.

  8. I've been a bad blogger lately too, I really wish I had a couple of extra hours to just sit down and write.

My family knows about my blog too and sometimes I wish it was anonymous. There are just a few subject areas that I would REALLY like to be able to share with friends online and get support/advice/vent, but I just can't.

I loved the post at H&a Half about moving with the dogs. I was cracking up!

  9. I can't wait to see HP7... I haven't read the books, I am covered up in other books and have been for a year or so now, but one day I would love to read them all.

I have been pretty crappy with blogging lately as well... There is so much going on right now!

I don't think there are very many of my family members who read my blog much, but the other day my sister called and said... "I can not believe you said that and are blogging about such and such..." I said, "hey it's all true, and if they read it they would say the same thing"... It nothing at all negative, just a passing mention... Families!!! Geez...

    Have a good one.

  10. I've not seen any of the Harry Pottery movies, nor have I read the books. I tried but I just could NOT get into them. I'm sure that makes me a bad librarian. :)

I have the same problem on my blog. There are many things I'd like to write about but between my insane family and my even-more-insane in-laws reading what I write, it's just not possible.
